South Ockendon SEND Parent De-Escalation Course
South Ockendon SEND Parent De-Escalation is a two-day course designed for parents and carers who want to better understand and support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who display behaviours that challenge. This training follows Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) standards, focusing on prevention, understanding, and safe responses.
Across the two theory days, you will learn how to:
- Identify and understand the triggers of challenging behaviour
- Use effective communication and emotional regulation strategies
- Apply de-escalation techniques to reduce distress and conflict
- Support children through trauma-informed and compassionate approaches
- Build consistency between home and school environments
This course empowers parents to see behaviour as communication, develop calmer routines, and strengthen relationships at home.
The South Ockendon SEND Parent De-Escalation Course costs £80 for both days, which must be attended in full to complete the training.
